KVPY Cancelled by DST and Merged Into Inspire She Scholarship

The KVPY Merged Into INSPIRE SHE Scholarship By DST. The Department Of Science and Technology (DST) has canceled the KVPY exam to be conducted in 2022 and onwards. Ongoing fellows of KVPY will continue to receive fellowships as per the norms from DST. Kishor Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana(KVPY) exam has been subsumed into Inspire -She Scholarship.

Why DST is Merging KVPY into INSPIRE SHE?

The Department of Science & Technology has completely explained the reason behind the merging of KVPY into INSPIRE SHE in the threads of a tweet that the utilization of KVPY resources for providing scholarships to more students.

DST tweeted that “KVPY has not been abolished. It is subsumed under the SHE component of INSPIRE under which students who were appearing for KVPY examinations will get scholarships through other national-level competitive examinations if they pursue basic & natural science subjects”

KVPY Initiative and Past Fellows.

The “Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana” (KVPY) is a program started in 1999 by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India to encourage students who are studying Basic Sciences to take up research careers in Science. The program aims to identify and encourage talented and motivated students to pursue a career in research.
KVPY past fellows will continue to get their fellowships according to the norms of DST.
The KVPY will be now subsumed with INSPIRE SHE Scholarship and the Department of Science & Technology will conduct the exam under the name of the Government of India.
