CBSE Date Sheet 2024 : The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the CBSE Date Sheet 2024 for the Board exams for Classes 10 and 12. The board exams will start on February 15, 2024, and end on April 10, 2024. Students can download the CBSE Date Sheet 2024 from the official website of the board, cbse.gov.in.
The board exams for these classes will be held from February 15 to April 10, 2024, with a well-spaced timetable to ensure adequate time for revision and preparation.
Class 10th students will commence their exams with English on February 15, followed by Hindi on February 17. Mathematics, Science, and Social Science will be held on February 21, 24, and 27, respectively. The remaining subjects, including Sanskrit, Urdu, Punjabi, Bengali, Odia, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Gujarati, will be scheduled from February 29 to March 18.
Class 12th students will also begin their exams on February 15 with English and Hindi, followed by Physics, Chemistry, and Biology on February 21, 24, and 27, respectively. Mathematics, Accountancy, Business Studies, Economics, and Political Science will be held from March 2 to 8. The remaining subjects, including History, Geography, Computer Science, Information Practices, Psychology, and Sociology, will be scheduled from March 10 to 22.

Revamped Marking Scheme for CBSE Board Exams 2024
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has introduced significant changes to the marking scheme for the upcoming 2024 board exams for Classes 10 and 12. These modifications aim to align the assessment pattern with international standards and enhance the focus on competency-based learning.
A key change is the increased weightage given to competency-based questions (CBQs). CBQs assess students’ ability to apply concepts and solve problems in real-world situations. For Class 10, CBQs will account for 50% of the total marks, while for Class 12, they will constitute 40%.
The board has reduced the number of descriptive answer type questions (DATQs) in response to concerns about students’ rote memorization and lack of critical thinking skills. DATQs will now carry 30% of the weightage in both Class 10 and Class 12 exams.
Multiple-choice questions (MCQs) have also been introduced in the CBSE marking scheme, with a 20% weightage for both Class 10 and Class 12 exams. MCQs are designed to assess students’ understanding of basic concepts and recall of information.
