Assam’s education system is about to undergo a major shift, with the Secondary Education Board of Assam (SEBA) and the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) merging in 2024.

This decision was made in order to streamline the state’s education system and lessen the workload of pupils and teachers. The merger will ensure that students’ transition from secondary to higher secondary school is more fluid, and that their education is more complete and integrated.
